So seeing some of the other reviews I wasn’t sure what to expect when I ordered this. First thing is that there isn’t really a good grip case for the oled switch version out there. All the good ones are for the original switch model. People are complaining in reviews that the grip will not stay on. Mine seems to. And also that you can’t hold it with one hand or the case will come off. I can seem to do that. Now if you take it on and off constantly I imagine the tightness of the case will lessen over time and cause it to slide off when holding with one hand.Yes unfortunately it’s clear like those clear cell phone cases. Yes it will yellow however that is due to ultra violet radiation … aka sunlight. I myself have black out curtains in my room and temporary full coverage blinds over the actual blinds to keep as much light as possible out so I can sleep without sunlight waking me up. So that for me is no issue as I also do not play outside with my switch or in the car. So it will never see the light of day. (Side note, this is why you wear sun screen every day…look at the yellowing phone cases as proof to sun damage)The hand grips themselves are not as grippy as some are but they do the job. These ones are more like semi soft plastic while some others are more soft silicon. They do have a really nice placement so your hands will not fatigue. Which is why I wanted a case to begin with. The trigger ones are the best option. And if you get the carry case that goes with this it fits perfectly into it without having to remove the cover off the switch. Yes there are better grips on other cases but many cases for the oled switch do not cover all of the switch and only parts of it so if it is dropped some of the actual switch may or may not break. This case covers the whole thing. It is indeed capable of docking on the switch port. Yes you need to press it in about 2/3rds of the way. All cases will have this happen to you as cases will add girth to the switch. The ports are not made for cases. No it will not break your port as long as you are gentle. Geez there is even a freaking video for this case to show you how to put it on and how to dock your switch.Only down side is you can not remove the joy cons with the case on. Plus the clear casing does show fingerprints and smudging after a while that will need to be wiped clean somewhat often, where as other models are black plastic which do not show and usually do not collect as much smudging. Also the back of the switch has a stand that pops out which this case covered so it is not usable with the case on.Bottom line is this case is a definite 4 out of 5. As some others mentioned this is the best case out there for this model of switch. I do wish there were a better option. Now if you only want the grip and better holding option for the switch so your hands do not fatigue they do make a plastic slide and click product that will not cover the switch or protect it but it is very easy to use and does give you the hold you want. Plus it has a stand at the bottom so it can be set down and stay up right. However it give no protection to the switch.Hope this helps anyone wondering if they should buy this or not.For those other reviews that say this case isn’t dockable, this isn’t true. The case came with instructions and strips to stick on the rails of the dock. These strips make it slide in and out of the dock with ease. I did in fact try to dock the switch without the strips at first, and yes, it is impossible to dock without these strips installed. The case will still to the glossy dock rails. So that’s where these included strips come into play. I’ve added two pictures to show the instructions and my switch docked. This is the best case on the market for the switch and I’ve been using Skull and Co since the original case came out for the original switch back in 2017. Well worth the money.I love the grips. This case made it so much easier to play while relaxing on the couch. The carrying case is solid. The protective switch case is minimal and “just enough”.Overall, I think this is the best Switch Oled case I’ve seen. I feel like my device is safe when traveling or while playing handheld. It does what’s most important. Here are some cons worth mentioning:-Protective case is snug and difficult to remove. I worry My joycons will loosen. I just keep the case on.-Grips are plastic and have snapped apart before. They easily snap back in place, but not fun when it happens while playing.-The case is a little finicky with docking. It DOES work with both types of docks, but requires a slight push to get connected.-Since docking does require some force, I recommend getting a screen protector and dock front cover. This will ensure your screen doesn’t get scratched.Again, I love the case. I just think these things are good to know. I’m going to go play my Switch now :DFirst off I love this case! reasons why I got it is because I wasn’t sure what type of size handles would be best for me. ( I can wear s/m gloves for reference). Also, I’m clumsy and I needed the most protection, and wanted the case to be dockable. The case covering the kickstand doesn’t bother me because I only play with it either in my hand or hooking it up to my tv. So that didn’t matter to meThe case is somewhat dockable ! But it takes you at most 5 minutes just to fit it in properly. Also the case isn’t a tight fit at the bottom ( maybe it’s on purpose so it’ll be easier to take the case off if needed not sure). I believe that’s why its hard to dock. When I try to take the switch out the dock since it’s a little loose at the bottom it gets caught in something in the dock .Also I have sweaty hands .. and I noticed the handles/grip do slip in my hands ?. But that’s not a design flaw. Wish it had some time of rubber element on grip to make it more comfortable.WARNING: Do not get his case unless you have a screen protector !! Even when I’m trying to dock it with the case on it actually rubs against the screen. And you don’t want to scratch your screen.4/5 just because of how long it takes me to dock it with the case on ?At first I was a little worried about the reviews saying it's not dockable or needs pressure to be inserted to the dock for charging or helding the switch with one hand can cause the grip case to start slipping out. As I applied the grip case, I did not have a single issue docking the switch with the grip case or trouble carrying one handed mode with the risk of it slipping out. Docking the switch was so smooth and easy, no pressure needed. Just remember to apply the stickers on the charging dock that comes with the grip case. Helps it dock smoothly. The grips are the best ones I've ever purchased for the switch oled,Very comfortable in my opinion. Definitely recommend this product. Don't be scared to give this one a try, totally worth it.???This is a great design and quality product. I upgraded my husbands switch as an anniversary gift and bought this to pair with it and he loves it! He can use his switch more comfortably when traveling with it and it was exactly what we had hoped and expected when we saw it. Thanks!Having owned the previous grip case for the original Switch, I was looking forward to the same quality in this one. However, Skull & Co have opted to use a cheaper, polished clear plastic for this one that causes it to stick to the inside of the dock (also polished). There's also the fact that unless you hold the OLED Switch in place, it doesn't dock properly with the case on and gets pulled away from the USB-C connector in the dock. After reporting this to Skull & Co, they've stated that they're aware of the problem and a redesigned version of the grip case will start to ship in mid-Feb. I recommend waiting until then before buying this and getting it direct from their website to ensure you have the functional one. This case, as it stands, is not suitable for purpose or as advertised. I've returned mine to Amazon for a refund.Very disappointed as it does not function as advertised. Quite some force is needed to push the Switch into the dock and even then is does not charge. I will be sending this back ASAP and purchasing another brand.I like the fact that this one actually sits in the OLED dock without being too tight. The original switch grip case didn’t quite fit as well as this does. This one is great! It really helps with playing this in handheld due to the added comfort of the case. Would highly recommend purchasing this if you play majority of the time in handheld.Good grip but you have to remove it before you can put the switch in the dock, expensive for what it is but it feels decent when playing and provides a decent enough grip.Fits snugly around my Switch. I love the see through rubber, it takes nothing away from the stylish white OLED Switch and the white grips are perfect. Three different handles make this fantastic value for money.
