I replaced the fan in a switch and ended up snapping on of the rails and disconnecting the other. I figured, might as well try myself before giving up and paying someone else to fix it. After looking up a Switch tear-down, I was fairly confident it would be even easier than the fan replacement (which was a success). I'm not sure if "easy" was an applicable word at all, as the ribbon cables are a huge pain to contort to the right shape. However, after some adjustments and elbow grease, I was able to get the one that was snapped replaced with minimal issue. In the end they both worked, but word of advice for anyone replacing the shorter, left-cable... be sure that thing is FULLY seated, try pulling it back out after you've hit the clamp, because to say mine was a hassle would be a huge understatement.Still 5 stars because the parts work, I'm not going to take a star off becuase it was difficult. Others are not going to be any easier
