OMG I LOVEEEEEE this controller. I have a couple of joycons for my switch but this is the first joycon I've bought that isn't the shape of your normal Switch. These joycons are shaped with a grip to hold on better. You can easily connect them just by sliding the controllers on the Switch and that's it. You can play with the white base it comes with or you can play by connecting them. I play by connecting them to my Switch because it has helped me with the pain I would feel from my Arthritis by carrying and playing. it would feel really heavy with regular joycons. With these on the Switch, they feel almost very light!Alright, so I'm one of those people who Own an Animal Crossing Nintendo Switch with the exclusive Green and Blue Joycons. The problem was for me is that my right joycon doesn't connect properly in handheld mode anymore; it still functions just fine as a wireless switch controller. Despite the demand for these things, Nintendo Does not sell new joycons with the animal crossing color scheme in mind.I've been using the Hori Split Pad Pro as my portable option and those are great; it's just they are red and black and don't look good when you put them in the dock(again, I have an animal crossing switch. They'll look just fine if you own a regular edition or even OLED switch)So.. With that in mind I went looking for an alternative and that's why I came across these Momen Joycons. How do they stack up against the joycons and split pad pro?The Answer is they stack up very well. They are very comfortable in the hands for portable gameplay and docked gameplay. They got motion controls. They got a little plastic center piece so you can run it as a primary controller. There are a few gripes I have with the product and that is it's cheap feeling on the components and material used. Now, you might be tempted to say "Well for $40 you get what you paid for." But the thing is for just a few dollars more you can Opt for a hori split pad.For starters; the material used on the plastic is a rough plastic. This to me was noticeable once I held the joycons in my hands; if you hold a Nintendo Joycon or even the hori split pad by comparison; the fit and finish are smoothed out.The analog sticks are plastic and have smaller thumb caps than what's on the Nintendo Joycons. They lack any kind of smooth rubber that's found on other joycon alternative offerings; but they do have a sufficient mold for your thumbs not to slip during gameplay which is fine. The D-pad is terrible. It functions perfectly fine; but it feels like it's just stuck some how; there's barely any feedback or good movement. I was playing through super mario world; and needless to say this d-pad just doesn't feel good for 2D platformers. The LED mode is very nice until you look at the plastic and notice the LED's show up in the back.. which kinda makes it look even cheaper.Overall: If your on a tight budget these can serve as a good player 2 option; but with so many other joycon alternatives on the market.. and most of them not costing more than $50; it's a tough pitch to recommend these when the other alternatives on the market provide a much more comfortable experience. The Momen Joycons get a 3/5; If they were priced lower and took out the LED options entirely this could be a good option for people on the budget but being priced at $40 as is.. Just either save for an official joycon from Nintendo themselves or something a bit better on the quality end. I'd dare say even if you play in portable mode I'd probably just recommend getting a case grip and sticking with the official OEM Nintendo Joycons. These are perfect!Comfort grip, great analog stick movement and the LED lights give a cosy atmosphere for gaming in bed at night ✨️No issue's si far with these joycons ?I loved these joycons, very light and comfortable to the grip with a texture on the back that wasn't abrasive or annoying and helped prevent any slipping. Multiple color options for the lights. Worked both attached to the switch and as a handheld. My only complaint is that since it was made of such light materials when my switch slipped off of my lap and hit the floor (from about a foot and a half from the ground) the part that slides into the switch shattered and disconnected. ? I really loved these and am super disappointed that I only got to use them for a couple weeks before they broke. Sigh.I have really enjoyed these controllers! They're cute, lightweight and I have had no problems with them. It's been almost a month.Only thing is the left rgb is a little orange not pink and the the right one is more on the pink side, as you can see in the pictures. But not terribly noticeable.I can't wait to see what all other switch products you guys have. :)The good: so much more comfortable to hold compared to Nintendo's flat control. Slim, not bulky like the hori split pad. Pretty blue and green colors for those Animal Crossing fans. Pressing long on the home button wakes the switch. The joycons charge while docked. I have no feedback about the vibration feature other than it works. I don't use vibration on any joycons because it distracts me while playing. The controller works great detached playing in table top mode and still wakes the switch while detached. I like that it has a traditional D pad.The not so good, but not a deal breaker: I initially did not like how hard I was pressing on the X and B buttons to get them to respond. However, I've been using these joycons for a few weeks now and I don't notice it anymore. So I may have broke them in or I just got used to it. I contacted the seller about this and they responded within day saying they could replace the controller. As a casual gamer, I am very satisfied with these joycons. It has all the features I was looking for at a great price. And they have satisfactory customer service. The material felt weird at first but I got some grips and overall 10/10 they’re so lightweight and work fineI think the quality for the price is great. I just hate how I can’t use them to play switch Sports or Mario party, etc. basically only can use them attached to the switch but that’s okay.
